Peddapalli: Joint Action Committee of various political parties and organisations on Friday took out a bike rally in Godavarikhani town in protest against the demolition of the shop of Sirisetti Jayasudha.
JAC activists, who are continuing deeksha (protest fast) at Gandhi chowk during the last six days, took out a rally from deeksha place to Rajiv Rahadari.
After submitting a memorandum at the Ambedkar statue, they reached the Ramagundam Municipal Corporation office where they staged a protest demonstration and raised slogans against local MLA and municipal officials.
Agitating people demanded municipal officials to rebuild a shop for Jayasudha. Addressing the agitating people, BRS district president and former MLA Korukanti Chander said that JAC was not against the development. However, people would not accept it if the MLA behaved like a dictator.
The legislator should take initiatives to rebuild the shop at the same place, he said and wanted the authorities to rebuild other shops too how the demolished shops were constructed near Godavarikhani bus stand with the support of Singareni.
