Jagtial: In the tragic incident, a youth died by suicide when he came to know about the death of his close friend in Korutla of Metpalli mandal on Sunday.
Revelli Suresh (20) and Perala Anand (21), born and brought up in Budigajangala colony, Allamaiahgutta area of Korutla town, were close friends and neighbours.
While Anand was staying in the town, Suresh migrated to Aurangabad in Maharashtra in search of employment six months ago. Suresh along with his parents Sailoo and Gunnamma were working in a graveyard at Nagar in Aurangabad.
Anand suffered serious injuries in a road accident that took place in Korutla town on December 31 night and was hospitalised. He died on Saturday afternoon while undergoing treatment.
On coming to know about the accident and hospitalisation of Anand, Suresh contacted other friends in Korutla and enquired about the former’s condition. Though nobody told him about the death of Anand, Suresh came to know about the incident through Whatsapp photographs and condolence messages were posted by other friends.
Shocked by his friend’s death, Suresh immediately contacted some of his friends in Korutla to confirm the death. Suresh was later found hanging from the ceiling fan in their house by his father Sailoo when he woke up on Sunday morning.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Gangam Raju, brother-in-law of the deceased, said Suresh, while interacting with friends, told them that he can’t live without his friend.
Suresh’s birthday was on January 1, but depressed as he was, he did not celebrate it. Suresh, who was not into any habits, however, consumed liquor after his friend’s death. This was confirmed in the postmortem report, said Raju, who works as autorikshaw driver in Korutla.
On coming to know about Anand’s death, Suresh wanted to leave for Korutla but his father stopped him due to lack of transportation facility and advised him to postpone his visit to Sunday or Monday. He, was however, found dead in the morning.
A pall of gloom descended on Budigajangala colony with the death of the two youngsters within a gap of few hours.
