Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao predicted that the party would register a sweeping victory in the erstwhile Karimnagar district whenever elections are held. He called upon the party leaders to intensify their fight against the Congress government’s misrule and take it to the people.
He held a constituency-wise review of the organisational activities of BRS with the party MLAs, former MLAs and key leaders from the undivided Karimnagar district here on Wednesday and outlined the party’s future strategy.
Reminding that the erstwhile Karimnagar district has been traditionally a stronghold for the BRS, Rama Rao said the Congress had won some seats in the last Assembly elections through false promises, but public opinion had shifted back in favour of BRS after two-and-a-half years of the Congress misrule. Citing an internal party survey, he said the car symbol would create a tsunami in erstwhile Karimnagar district in future elections.
The BRS working president directed party leaders to take the Congress government’s failures and corruption among local Congress leaders to the people. He also accused the Congress and the BJP of jointly conspiring against Singareni Collieries Company Limited and asked party cadres to expose alleged irregularities in coal production before workers and the public.
Reviewing the party membership drive and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Rama Rao stressed the need to strengthen the party at the booth level and conduct dedicated meetings with grassroots workers. He said the party’s strength was built on committed cadres who stood by the organisation irrespective of whether it was in power or not.
The BRS leader also asked party leaders to remind people of the benefits of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, pointing out that the value of the irrigation scheme was becoming evident amid delayed monsoon conditions. He said that despite adequate water availability, the Congress government had failed to utilise it effectively for farmers.
He also urged party leaders to make greater use of social media platforms to reach voters and counter the Congress government’s false narrative, while intensifying efforts to highlight its corruption and administrative failures at both the State and local levels.
