Like Modi, Hitler also used to turn a deaf ear to suggestions said Ashish Mittal, AIKMS general secretary.
Khammam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was turning a deaf ear to the demands of farmers who have been protesting for over 80 days in New Delhi against the new farm laws, AIKMS general secretary Ashish Mittal said on Monday.
Addressing Rythu Garjana, a public meeting organised by CPI (ML) New Democracy and All India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha (AIKMS) here demanding repeal of the anti-farmers’ laws and withdrawal of the Electricity Amendment Bill 2020, Mittal, who is also a member of National Working Group of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) likened Modi to Hitler. Like Modi, Hitler also used to turn a deaf ear to suggestions, he said.
He noted that the question of continuation of MSP of a few crops had to be viewed from the perspective of feeding people of the nation instead of corporate profits. “The situation would be better understood given the fact that India stands at 94th place out of 104 countries in the world hunger index,” he said.
He demanded that Modi and his followers answer why India stood at the bottom of the world hunger index. The farm laws and the Electricity Amendment Bill that aimed to discontinue subsidies to farmers on power consumption would make things worse in the days to come, he said.
Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president Prof Kodandaram addressing the gathering noted that it was the responsibility of every citizen in India to extend support to the farmers’ protest against farm laws. The Centre wants to benefit corporate forces with these laws, he said.
AIKMS State general secretary K Ranga Reddy, Sabha leader V Venkata Ramaiah, ex-MLA Gummadi Narsaiah, CPI(ML) New Democracy State joint secretary Potu Ranga Rao and others led a massive protest rally in Khammam prior to the public meeting.
