Hyderabad: Little Srividya’s dream of education is back on track, thanks to BRS working president KT Rama Rao. After her school in Sanath Nagar’s Dasaram Basti cancelled her admission due to missing documents including birth certificate and Aadhaar, Rama Rao intervened, ensuring her return to the classroom.
Born at home, Srividya’s parents could not obtain a birth certificate after hospital staff demanded bribe to issue the same. Without her birth certificate, she could not secure her Aadhaar. As Aadhar card and birth certificate are mandatory for admission in schools, the private school management where she was studying cancelled her admission.
Moved by a news report on Srividya’s plight, Rama Rao directed his office staff to visit her family. He assured them of assistance in securing her Aadhaar and birth certificate. Following Rama Rao’s initiative, Sanath Nagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav coordinated with GHMC officials to expedite the necessary documentation.
Recognising their financial struggles, the BRS working president also paid her school fees for two years and promised to support her education in the future.
Grateful for the swift action, Srividya’s parents thanked Rama Rao for giving a new lease of life for their daughter’s education. They noted that the officials had only responded nominally even after the media reported about their trouble and assured to issue the documents. However, Rama Rao had not only intervened to expedite the process, but also paid her school fee for two years, ensuring that their daughter’s education was not derailed.
