Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao urged the Congress government to complete the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) works at Alwal and LB Nagar and make the hospitals available to the public.
He also called for the speedy completion of the Warangal Super Specialty Hospital. The hospital, with 2,000 beds, was planned as the largest such facility in Telangana. Rama Rao also urged the government to complete the NIMS expansion works in Hyderabad at the earliest.
Taking to X, Rama Rao said the Congress government had delayed the projects for a long time due to political considerations. He charged that the government feared that BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao would get credit for them. Without any further delay, he wanted the Congress government to make the TIMS hospitals at Alwal and LB Nagar available to the public quickly.
Rama Rao said it was heartening that the Sanathnagar TIMS hospital had finally become accessible to the public. He said the facility was built by BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao with the aim of providing corporate-standard healthcare to the poor free of cost.
He said the hospital was modelled on AIIMS and reflected the idea of establishing TIMS hospitals in all parts of Hyderabad. BRS chief Chandrashekhar Rao had laid the foundation stones for the facilities and ensured that construction progressed rapidly during the BRS regime.
The Sanathnagar TIMS facility has 1,000 general beds, 300 ICU beds and 16 operation theatres. It also has an organ transplant unit and facilities for MRI, CT scans, X-rays, cath labs, radiology and dialysis.
Rama Rao said the hospital would be a lifeline not only for Hyderabad residents but also for critical patients arriving in the city from various districts.
He extended his best wishes to the engineers who built the hospital on a 22-acre campus. He also wished the doctors, nursing staff and other personnel who will provide care at TIMS, Sanathnagar.
