KTR meets Group-I candidates, urges government to consider their demands
He questioned the government's stubbornness in refusing to reschedule the exams, despite repeated requests from candidates. He condemned the arrests of protesting candidates in Ashok Nagar and demanded their immediate release, along with the withdrawal of any charges against them.

Hyderabad: Assuring Group-I mains candidates that his party would stand with them, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday called on the State government to positively consider their request for rescheduling their exams.
He questioned why the government was being stubborn despite the candidates’ requests to reschedule the exams. He condemned the arrest of candidates protesting in Ashok Nagar and demanded their immediate release and the withdrawal of cases registered against them.
Rama Rao met the Group-1 Mains candidates at Telangana Bhavan, following their appeal for support. He assured them that the BRS party would stand with them and provide necessary legal assistance. During the meeting, the candidates brought to his attention the government’s rigid stance on the exams and the constitutional issues with GO No.29. They also highlighted the injustices in reservations for SC and ST students.
The candidates informed the BRS working president that there were around 22 cases related to the Group-1 Mains exams pending in court, yet the government was adamant about conducting the exams. They expressed their belief that if they approached the Supreme Court, the exams were likely to be cancelled. Despite their pleas for the exams to be conducted only after resolving all legal issues, the government remains unresponsive.
The Group-I candidates who hit the streets last night had appealed for Rama Rao’s support to mount pressure on the government to consider their pleas. As part of his plan to meet them, the BRS leader was expected to visit Ashok Nagar in the city. However, with Ashok Nagar area witnessng heavy deployment of police, he met them in Telangana
