Suryapet: Mulugu MLA Seethakka on Saturday urged the State government to extend financial help to the people, who were facing hardship due to lockdown.

Speaking at a media conference held in the residence of TPCC secretary Patel Ramesh Reddy at Suryapet, Seethakka said that the neighbouring States were providing Rs 6,000 along with 50 kg of rice to each family to help them survive during the lockdown. She alleged that the State government was not extending any financial help to the poor families during the lockdown imposed due to second wave of COVID-19.

The MLA said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao imposed a 10 days lockdown and extended it for another 10 days. She saw it as a tactic to escape from extending financial help to the poor families, which have been impacted by the lockdown. She said that the main aim of politics should be serving the people, but not poaching the leaders of opposition parties.

Earlier, Seethakka also launched free meals to family members of Corona patients, which was taken up by the Congress  in the government general hospital of Suryapet. she also distributed rice and groceries to the poor people in 38th ward of the town.
