Noted filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao said the Telugu film industry could be affected following the Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) elections which were conducted in a dramatic and controversial manner.
He spoke to the presspersons in Visakhapatnam on the sidelines of his upcoming movie ‘Pelli SandaD’ for which is the mentor.
It would have been fair if the bigwigs in the industry had chosen one single person unanimously for the MAA president’s post, he said adding, “It is always healthy this way.”
However, he has complete faith in newly-elected MAA president Manchu Vishnu who would steer the association on the good path.
In the bitterly contested polls, Manchu Vishnu emerged victorious for the MAA president’s post against Prakash Raj.
The results later prompted Prakash Raj and actor Naga Babu to resign from the MAA membership citing various reasons.
Although the election officer Krishna Mohan announced the winner for the MAA president’s post on Sunday night, the counting of votes was resumed on Monday morning to decide the winners of executive council (EC) members
