Mahabubabad farmer attempts suicide over urea shortage
A farmer from Burugugumpu village in Mahabubabad district attempted suicide after repeated failed attempts to secure urea for his paddy crop. Consuming pesticide in his field, he was rushed to hospitals in Kothaguda and later Narsampet for treatment

Mahabubabad: A farmer M Narsayya attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at Kothaguda mandal headquarters in the district on Saturday.
The farmer from Burugugumpu in Kothaguda mandal was said to have cultivated paddy in ten acres of land. According to his family members he had visited Kothaguda PACS sub-centre and Pogallapally PACS several times to get urea.
But he could not get urea. He was worried over poor yields since urea was not applied on time. He went to the farm field and consumed pesticide. The family members rushed him to Kothaguda Government Hospital and later shifted him to Narsampet Government Hospital for better treatment.
