Malla Reddy’s witty remarks spark laughter in lobbies

Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS MLA Malla Reddy, known for his knack for stirring up conversations, was in his elements on the Assembly premises on Tuesday.
His candid remarks and humorous observations have become subjects of intrigue for many, including journalists, who eagerly gather around him whenever he appears in the lobbies.
During his latest interaction, Malla Reddy reflected on the stark differences between past and present Assembly sessions. He nostalgically recalled how people once watched Assembly proceedings with keen interest, citing the speeches of leaders like former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Chandrababu Naidu, and YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
He noted that the Telangana Assembly, post-State formation, also drew significant attention, especially during the then Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s speeches. However, he quipped that the current sessions seemed to be more about “clothes being torn and knives being drawn.”
An amusing exchange unfolded between Malla Reddy and Chennur MLA G Vivek in the Assembly lobby on Tuesday. Greeting Vivek with a playful “Namaste, Minister Garu,” Malla Reddy received a lighthearted response, “Thanks, Mallanna,” from Vivek.
The banter continued as Malla Reddy remarked on the dominance of families like Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and Vivek’s in the State in the Congress rule, to which Vivek humorously responded, “Under BRS rule, it was KCR and Malla Reddy who ruled the roost.”
The conversation ended on a cheerful note, with Malla Reddy joking about losing power, saying, “We lost power, but it’s no big deal.”
