Man arrested for nurse’s suicide in Hyderabad’s Dilsukhnagar

Jana Reddy allegedly persuaded the woman into a physical relationship by promising marriage

Hyderabad: The Saroornagar police on Wednesday arrested 30-year-old man Jana Reddy in connection with the suicide of a 27-year-old nurse Malleshwari in Dilsukhnagar early this week.

The suspect, a native of Nalgonda and the victim, who was working as a staff nurse at a hospital in Punjagutta, were in a relationship for the past few years. Jana Reddy allegedly persuaded the woman into a physical relationship by promising marriage.

Police said, the suspect, later started avoiding her, saying he could not marry her as she belonged to a lower caste in the society. He went ahead and married another woman.

Upset over it, she died by consuming unknown poisonous substance in her hostel room on Monday.
