Mancherial VRA murdered in office

Mancherial: In a ghastly incident, a village revenue assistant (VRA) was brutally murdered by some unidentified persons when he was in the office of Kannepalli mandal Tahsilder on Sunday night. The incident came to light on Monday morning.
Kannepalli Sub-Inspector Suresh Kumar said that the victim was Durgam Bapu (50), a VRO of Kothapalli village in Kannepalli mandal.
Bapu’s body was found in a pool of blood in the office of the Tahsildar. The miscreants slit his throat to death. He was assigned to secure the revenue records at the time of the mishap. Some unknown persons of Kothapalli village are suspected to have eliminated him following previous grudges. The exact motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
Thandur Inspector K Babu Rao inspected the scene of the crime and CLUES teams gathered pieces of evidence. He said that police were focusing on whether the victim had disputes with anyone. He stated that offenders would be arrested at the earliest.
The VRA has a wife, four daughters and son. Ammakka, the wife of Bapu, lodged a complaint with police and a case was registered. Investigations got underway.
