Hyderabad: Folk singer Satyavathi Mudavath, popularly known as Mangli, made a complaint at Panjagutta police station on Sunday against Singapogu Subbu, alleging that the man behaved inappropriately against her and demanded Rs 10 lakh.
In her complaint, Mangli stated that on March 22, when she visited an advocate’s office, the man, Singapogu Subbu, was present there along with three others. He falsely introduced himself as an advocate and began behaving inappropriately. She further alleged that Subbu demanded Rs 10 lakh from her, saying that he would remove certain videos related to her from social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and others.
Mangli alleged that upon refusing to pay the money, Subbu and his associates used abusive language and threatened her with reputational damage. She accused them of creating a nuisance and attempted to extort money under threat. She urged the police to initiate action against Subbu and others.
A case was already filed against Mangli at Panjagutta police station two days ago on a complaint made by advocate Singapogu Subbu. The advocate alleged that Mangli and others had cheated him of Rs 10 crore in micro finance business.
