Medak records unprecedented rainfall, villagers shifted as water levels rise in Pocharam dam
Medak district witnessed unprecedented rainfall with Sardhana village recording 328 mm in 24 hours. Overflowing streams and rising water levels in Pocharam dam forced officials to evacuate Sardhana residents to safety. Heavy rains also lashed Nagapur, Chegunta and Ramayampet.

Medak: Medak district witnessed unprecedented rainfall in the past 24 hours, causing streams, lakes and dams to overflow. Sardhana village in Havelighanpur mandal recorded the highest rainfall of 328 mm till 8 am on Thursday.
Neighbouring Nagapur received 284 mm, while Chegunta reported 248 mm. Ramayampet and Medak RDO office both recorded 213 mm each, and Rajpally reported 200 mm.
The downpour led to heavy inflows into Pocharam dam. With water levels rising dangerously, officials evacuated residents of Sardhana and shifted them to the local Rythu Vedika for safety.
