Medak district witnessed unprecedented rainfall with Sardhana village recording 328 mm in 24 hours. Overflowing streams and rising water levels in Pocharam dam forced officials to evacuate Sardhana residents to safety. Heavy rains also lashed Nagapur, Chegunta and Ramayampet.
One of two men swept away in Medak’s Gangamma vagu during heavy rains was found dead near Rajpet village on Thursday. The deceased, Bestha Satyam, was identified as a local resident, while search operations continue for the missing villager, Yada Goud.
