Movement of migrant tiger triggers panic among locals in Mulugu
A tiger straying from Maharashtra has been roaming near villages in Venkatapur mandal, Mulugu, for two weeks, forcing locals to suspend farm work. Forest officials have set camera traps and cages to monitor and capture the big cat.
Mulugu: Movement of a migrant tiger on the peripherals of different villages of Venkatapur mandal, continues to trigger panic among locals for the past few days.
Locals said that a tiger was moving on the outskirts of Singarakonda, Keshavapur and Narsapur villages for over two weeks. They stated that they were living in the grip of fear following the movement of the tiger. They regretted that they were forced to suspend farm activities fearing being attacked by the wild animal. They requested Forest officials to divert it to the wild.
Officials said that a tiger from Maharashtra was roaming in the forests of multiple villages in Venkatapur for quite a long time. They stated camera traps were installed to track the tiger and cages were placed to capture it. The tiger drifted towards Mulugu in search of territory by crossing Pranahita in December.
