Minister P Ajay Kumar reviewed arrangements for Mukkoti celebrations at Bhadrachalam in Kothagudem district on Wednesday.
Kothagudem: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar directed the authorities to make elaborate arrangements for Mukkoti Ekadashi celebrations at Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Temple at Bhadrachalam in the district.
The Minister held a meeting at Bhadrachalam Sub-Collector’s office with district officials to review the arrangements for the celebrations that starts on January 3 next year. The arrangements should be made in accordance with the Covid regulations, he said.
Covid crisis cast its shadow on the celebrations at the temple in year 2021 preventing devotees from participating in Mukkoti and Sri Rama Navami celebrations. After a gap of nearly two years, darshan of Lord Rama will be provided to devotees through Uttara Dwaram of the famed shrine.
Face covering must
The Minister directed the officials to take proper measures in issuing tickets. Those who bought the tickets should be allowed for darshan without any disruption, Ajay Kumar said, adding that bleaching and sanitisation should be done at regular intervals and official should ensure that everyone wears face masks gloves while partaking prasadam after the rituals. Emergency medicines should be kept available, he directed.
District Collector Anudeep Durishetty explained that the main temple, Vaikunta Dwaram, Annadanam, Parnasala and Godavari Ghat were being painted. For 11 days Ramalayam, Parnasala and Godavari Ghat would be illuminated with colourful lighting.
Steps have been taken to set up a 14,578 square feet marquee, temporary accommodation, dress changing rooms on 46,332 square feet area to give to devotees on rental basis. Setting up of LED screens and arch gates was under progress, the Collector said.
Devotees will be allowed to watch Teppotsavam which would take place on a ‘Hamsa Vahanam’ in Godavari river on the evening of January 12. Uttara Dwara Darshanam of the presiding deity will be provided to devotees in the early hours of January 13, and on Jan 29 Vishwaroopa Seva would be performed, he added.
Government Whip Rega Kanta Rao, ZP Chairman Koram Kanakaiah, MLA P Veeriaha, ITDA PO, P Gautham, Additional Collector K Venkateshwarlu and ASP, Akshansh Yadav were present.
