Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday described the party’s success in the Municipal Chairperson elections in Kyathanpalli, Mancherial district and Ibrahimpatnam in Rangareddy district as a “resounding victory for democracy.” He said the party had secured these wins despite what he termed as atrocities by the ruling Congress to influence the outcome. He congratulated the newly elected Municipal Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons.
Taking to X, Rama Rao praised the councillors for remaining united and resisting alleged inducements and pressure exerted by the ruling party to seize these seats through unethical means. He said their determination helped the party retain the municipalities.
“The fighting spirit demonstrated by the CPI comrades – our allies in an effort to capture the Kyathanpalli Municipality – is truly inspiring,” Rama Rao said.
The BRS leader said the results showed that there was no place in Telangana for intimidation, corruption or undemocratic practices. These results have also established that the countdown has begun for the ruling Congress party, which, in a mere two-and-a-half years, has already accumulated severe public resentment, he stated.
Assuring support to party workers, Rama Rao said the BRS would continue to stand by its cadre, who, he said, had put up a strong fight in both Panchayat and Municipal elections. He called on party members to draw inspiration from the victories and continue their efforts against the Congress government led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Rama Rao also congratulated party leaders, including Mancherial district president Balka Suman and Rangareddy district president Manchireddy Kishan Reddy and Manchireddy Prashanth Kumar Reddy (bunty), for their role in the victories.
