Mynampally admits internal sabotage by BRS coverts behind Congress losses in sarpanch elections

Hyderabad: In a surprising admission that is set to trigger debate in political circles, former MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao said the Congress lost sarpanch elections at several places in the State due to the presence of BRS covert elements in every constituency.

The former BRS MLA, who switched loyalties to the Congress ahead of the Assembly elections, was speaking to media persons on Tuesday.

“In every constituency, many covert elements, while being in the Congress party, helped them (BRS). If this covert system vanishes, we will win all the elections. I have raised this issue several times, but the covert elements do not leave the Congress,” Hanumanth Rao said in a video that is circulating on social media.

He alleged that even when plans were made for elections and other programmes, information was immediately leaked to rival camps.

Claiming that the BRS had vast financial resources, he said the party was spending heavily and instigating people by citing delays in pension disbursement and other issues.

“In Medak and Siddipet districts, former Minister T Harish Rao still has command over the police and other department officials. He continues to monitor all the proceedings in the districts, and this is painful to admit,” Hanumanth Rao said.
