Hyderabad: Under ‘Operation Amanat,’ the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Central Railway (SCR) has recovered 21 lost mobile phones during the month of July, with nine phones already returned to their rightful owners.
The recoveries were made through the RPF’s dedicated Cyber Cell, which is actively using digital tools to trace lost devices, a press release said.
RPF officials said a total of 169 complaints were received across the SCR zone including Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded divisions. Of them, 139 mobile phones were blocked, traceability was detected in 52 cases, and 21 were recovered.
The RPF Cyber Cell uses the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, which enables IMEI-based tracking and blocking of devices. SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava appreciated the efforts of the RPF teams.
