Osmania University seeks clarification over viral video linked to mass copying allegations
Osmania University has sought clarification from MS Degree College after a viral video sparked allegations of mass copying. The video, showing books falling from a building, was clarified by the college as unrelated to ongoing examinations. University officials reiterated their commitment to strict exam standards and warned of stringent action against negligence.

Hyderabad: Osmania University has taken serious note of the reports circulating about alleged mass copying at MS Degree College. The University sought an explanation regarding a video that went viral in the media and on social media platforms, showing books falling from the second floor of a building.
As per directions of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kumar Molugaram, Academic Audit Cell director, Prof. Kishan instructed the college management to submit a written clarification.
Responding to this, MS Degree College informed the University that the viral video has no connection whatsoever with the ongoing examinations.
As per the explanation submitted, students from Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College, Chaitanyapuri, Saroor Nagar, appeared for the B.A. Economics III semester examinations on November 28, and the viral video has no relevance to these examinations.
The management further stated that even the local police conducted an inquiry and found no evidence supporting the allegations.
The college clarified that there is a storeroom on the upper floor facing the road, and some records and books accidentally slipped and fell onto the road. At the same time, a few individuals on the road recorded the incident on their mobile phones and circulated it on social media with misleading claims of mass copying.
In an official statement, Prof. Kishan reiterated that the University maintains strict standards in the conduct of examinations. He warned that stringent action will be taken against any affiliated college found guilty of negligence.
