Over 9,000 cases booked for lockdown violations in Adilabad

In-charge Collector PS Rahul Raj stated that the lockdown was extended till May 30 and citizens were allowed to buy groceries, vegetables and to do other tasks from 6 am to 10 am

Adilabad: In-charge Collector PS Rahul Raj said that the extended lockdown would strictly be implemented. He along with the Superintendent of Police M Rajesh Chandra convened a meeting here on Friday.

Rahul Raj stated that the lockdown was extended till May 30 and citizens were allowed to buy groceries, vegetables and to do other tasks from 6 am to 10 am. He advised hawkers to vacate roads by 9.30 am. He told authorities of Panchayat Raj Department to implement lockdown in rural parts and to take steps for avoiding crowding of the public.


Rajesh Chandra said that as many as 9,984 cases were booked against violators of Covid-19 lockdown norms, besides seizing 35 vehicles for unnecessarily moving on the roads. He requested owners of commercial establishments and roadside businesses to shut shops before 10 am. He requested the citizens to extend their cooperation to enforce the norms of the lockdown.

Additional collectors M David, N Nataraj, Adilabad RDO Jadi Rajeshwar, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Narender RIMS-Adilabad Director Banoth Balaram and District Panchayat Officer Srinivas and Drugs Inspector Srikanth were present.
