United Nations Day is commemorated on October 24 every year, marking the day United Nations (UN) was established in 1945. To honour the role the UN plays, the students of Pallavi Aware International School organised a virtual meet on October 23. The students informed the audience what the UN is and the role it plays in the global society. The students presented a PowerPoint Presentation explaining in detail the work the UN does in various social welfare programmes.
The students iterated that strength lies in unity and only when we unite together can we strengthen peace and harmony in the society. The students presented a mock discussion of the proceedings of UN conferences. The students went on to sing a song about the UN and the unity across nations.
A video was then broadcasted informing the audience of the different people involved with the UN and the work they cover. The students went on to encourage their fellow schoolmates to be a part of the UN if they were interested in promoting world peace and social welfare. The students went on to explain how United Nations Day is celebrated across the world. The meet ended on a festive note with the students singing and dancing and promoting unity.
