Hyderabad: Annual Day is a day which is looked forward to with utmost anticipation and excitement by any school. At Pallavi model school, Alwal, it is something extraordinary. The umbrella theme for the celebrations was woven around the title Junoon-e- Azadi of time. The celebrations began with a Prattanaikal-prayer to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. Swagata nrittam has bound the attention of the viewers. Pradhana Jote, tete-e-tete with principal Sunir Nagi was inspirational.
The chief guest for the Annual Day was Dolly AhluwaliaTewari, a popular film actress, and National Award Winner. The welcome address and introduction of the chief guest was given by Priya Domnic (academic in-charge) and Diana Cyrus (grade IX coordinator , English) who extended a warm welcome. Academic Director Sudha addressed the gathering and inspired the audience.
The programme was followed by a spectacular display of performances by students. Mughals, The title of Hyderabad was beautifully showcased by the students. Struggle for the Kohinoor diamond proved that Indians were rich in natural resources.
Students of class VIII presented “Ek Chingari Kranthi Ki” which explained how Indians struggled to achieve independence. Class IX and X students performed on the themes Swedeshi-I- Yatra, Jallianwala Bagh Massacre was picturised and Jana Andolan Se Antya (Non-Cooperation Movement) respectively. Jana Andolan Se Antya(Non-Cocoperation Movement) mentioned Hindu – Muslim unity. Sare Jahaan Se Achcha evoked patriotism in the heart of viewers. The Quit India movement helped students understand how important it is to promote Indian goods. The Quit India Movement act showed how thousands of people came together, even being beaten, suppressed and imprisoned together.
Head Mistress Suzan John congratulated students for their outstanding performances. Vice-principal Vidyadhari proposed a vote of thanks. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
