Panic in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri villages after tiger attacks cattle
Panic spread across Turkapally and nearby villages in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district after a tiger attacked cattle early on Sunday. Forest officials confirmed the presence of the big cat through pug marks and camera traps, and issued an advisory urging residents to remain cautious.
Hyderabad: Panic gripped Turkapally and surrounding villages of Yadadri Bhuvangiri distric in Telangana after a tiger attacked cattle early on Sunday.
According to the police, the tiger attacked two calves at the Ibrahimpur village in Yadadri Bhuvangiri district.
One animal was carried away by the tiger while the other was left in the field. The villagers first complained of tiger presence in the Turkapally and forest department officials were informed.
The forest officials checked the pug marks and confirmed the presence of tiger aged between 8 to 10 years. The image of the tiger was captured with trap cameras.
The officials said that the tiger moved into the Yadadri Bhuvangiri district from Siddipet forest where it was moving around for 10 days. It is moving in search of a female for companionship.
Following the movement of tiger the police and forest officials have issued an advisory asking the people not to venture out into the fields alone and move around in groups.
A sense of fear gripped the villages NG Banda, Ibrahimpur, Veerareddy pally, and near by villages. The forest officials have set up camera traps around the villages.
