Hyderabad: “Our country must stand united in matters of national security,” said senior BJP leader and India Foundation Director V. Ram Madhav here on Saturday.

“You can’t change your neighbours. You have to live with them. The nature of China is aggressive power. Hundreds of times, China tried to incur into India. We are now standing up against China at Line of Actual Control (LAC). We have to persuade China to rise peacefully,” he said, delivering a talk on ‘Indo-China standoff: The Road Ahead,’ organized by Awareness in Action.

“Since 60 years, we couldn’t define LAC. The NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will define LAC soon,” he said, adding that the Centre’s first step will be to make China commit to LAC.

Stating that once the LAC is defined, he said India will then negotiate about which territory belongs to whom. “We would like to have a solution soon. I think diplomatic talks with China will lead to an amicable solution,” Ram Madhav said.
