Hyderabad: In a surprise midnight operation, City Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar personally joined a patrolling vehicle and inspected sensitive areas under the Langer Houz and Tolichowki police limits on Monday, early hours.
Without sirens or a security convoy, the Commissioner directly reached the houses of several rowdy-sheeters in MD Lines, Aasam Nagar, and Defence Colony.
Officers said the Commissioner woke the rowdies up, reviewed their crime history, current lifestyle, employment status, and general behaviour in society.
Sajjanar warned them that any return to criminal activities would invite strict action, advising them to give up unlawful habits and lead a responsible life.
During his visit, Sajjanar walked into several hotels, shops and commercial establishments operating beyond permitted hours in Tolichowki.
He instructed the owners and staff to follow regulations, cautioning that violations would lead to tough enforcement.
The Commissioner further examined patrolling readiness, response capability, and night-time security arrangements.
He also interacted with constables on duty, verified patrolling points, and assessed how quickly personnel were responding to public issues at night.
Later, he visited the Tolichowki Police Station, checking the station’s general diary, night entries, attendance of duty staff, and the responsibilities assigned to them.
Speaking on the occasion, Sajjanar said the purpose of such surprise inspections is to strengthen night policing, ensure accountability, and enhance service quality under people-centric policing.
He also instructed officers to prioritise visible policing, maintain strict surveillance on criminal activity and remain fully alert.
