Power employees stage protest against privitisation of Govt Discoms in other States

Hyderabad: Members of Telangana State Power Employees Joint Action Committee on Tuesday staged a protest in front of TGGENCO office against the government’s decision to privatise the State run power companies of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chandigarh States.

JAC convenor Ratnakar Rao said the protest was organised on the call of the National Co-ordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE). Power employees boycotted their work between 1 and 2 pm to register their protest, he said.


The All India Employees Federation meeting held in Nagpur on December14 and 15 decided to hold agitation programs if the power sector was privatized in any State in the country.
