Professionals rally behind KT Rama Rao after Revanth Reddy’s ‘Workers’ Mindset’ remarks
Voices from IT employees, corporate trainers, entrepreneurs pointed out Rama Rao’s transformational leadership in the IT sector in Telangana
Hyderabad: A wave of support from professionals across sectors has surged in favour of BRS working president KT Rama Rao following Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s contentious remarks on the “workers’ mindset.’
Voices from IT employees, corporate trainers, entrepreneurs and others, pointed out Rama Rao’s transformational leadership in the IT sector in Telangana and rebuked the Chief Minister’s comments as derogatory and dismissive of professionals’ contributions.
Mohammed Vajeed, a senior operations manager in Hyderabad, praised Rama Rao’s efforts to elevate Telangana’s IT landscape. “The new investments, firms, and ventures we have witnessed under your tenure are unparalleled and irreplaceable. We hope to see you as the IT Minister/the Chief Minister for many more decades,” he remarked, underscoring KTR’s role in making Hyderabad a global tech hub.
Corporate trainer S Balu who hails from Andhra Pradesh, shared similar views, stating, “You are not just an IT employee, you are a role model; you are the brand of IT employees in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Your interactions with global icons like Ivanka Trump have showcased your charisma and competence. Dogs may bark when a lion walks, but they cannot diminish its roar.”
Srinivas Ganti, a global supply network orchestrator, highlighted the importance of respecting professionals in public discourse. “Your words resonate deeply with the IT community. It’s inspiring to see someone stand up for the hard work, dedication, and talent that IT professionals bring to the table. Your pride in your roots and your industry is truly commendable. Let us focus on positive communication to drive meaningful change,” he said.
Similarly, Aparna Thanmaya, a senior technical recruiter, lauded the former IT Minister’s acknowledgement of the hard work and innovation within the IT sector. “Your message reminds us that progress is driven by intellect and integrity — not shortcuts or backdoor dealings. It’s refreshing to see someone unapologetically standing up for their profession and highlighting the immense value IT professionals bring to the world,” she asserted.
Several professionals took the opportunity to critique the current government’s actions. Phaniraj Dahagam, a business development manager, questioned the necessity of signing an MoU with Hyderabad-based MEIL in Davos, terming it a waste of public funds. “Such agreements could have been finalised locally, avoiding extravagant trips abroad,” he pointed out.
Vinay Kumar, a senior technical recruiter, alleged discrepancies in investment claims from Davos, accusing the Congress government of misleading the public with fabricated figures. Voices from across sectors expressed longing for the era of visionary leadership under Rama Rao. Saichandra Gampa, a change management consultant, noted, “When our friends speak of Hyderabad’s infrastructure, we feel proud. Your leadership brought unparalleled growth, and we deeply regret that you are no longer our Minister.”
Farhaan Syed Mohammed, a mechanical engineer, urged Rama Rao to focus on bringing manufacturing companies to Telangana to create opportunities for semi-skilled workers. “This would align with the ‘vocal for local’ vision,” he emphasised.
Pavan Desaraju, a business consultant, called for labour law reforms to address work-life balance issues in the IT sector. “The industry often demands inhumane hours, leading to stress and even deaths. Only you can bring stringent policies to support IT professionals,” he appealed.
Kishore C, a resource manager, felt that the Chief Minister should have remembered that Davos is not a political arena to belittle a past representative of the State. “He should know that a hands-on IT guy knows more about right policymaking than a leader with a vision to furthering political longevity,” he observed.
Alok Tomar who heads the State e-Governance Mission Team under the National eGovernance Division, stated that Rama Rao’s words resonate deeply and it’s inspiring to see leaders like him championing the contributions of tech professionals, as well as highlighting the importance of integrity and hard work in public discourse. “The IT industry indeed demands a level of expertise and commitment that should never be undervalued. Let’s continue advocating for a future where talent is recognised and celebrated,” he added.
Md Jabbar, a Central government employee opined that transforming Telangana into a global tech hub and empowering countless IT professionals, speaks volumes about Rama Rao’s vision and commitment. “It is inspiring to see a leader who values education, hard work, and skill over empty rhetoric. The IT and ITeS community stands proud to have someone like you championing their efforts,” he said.
Ramana Rao Devulapally, Vice President at Infinite Computer Solutions, summarised the collective sentiment: “KTR redefined progress, and it is visible to all. The current administration seems more focused on serving external interests than fostering growth within Telangana.”
