An elderly woman Gouramma interacting with a cultural troupe engaged in Praja Palana celebrations in Kothagudem
Kothagudem: Even as the Congress government led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is organising Praja Palana celebrations all over the State, the public seems to be deeply skeptical about the one year Congress rule.
An elderly woman’s chance interaction with a cultural troupe engaged in Praja Palana celebrations in Kothagudem proves the point and tells the general mood prevailing among the public. The woman, Gouramma, a fruit seller at Kothagudem bus stand happened to spot the troupe on Wednesday. Addressing the troupe members, she instantaneously started criticising the Revanth Reddy government and hailed the regime of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. A bystander shot a video of her conversation with the troupe; during which she was heard questioning the government’s failure to deliver its promise of Rs.4000 monthly pension to elderly persons.
“If it was KCR in power, he would have managed to deliver the promise by any means necessary,” Gouramma said, adding that except for free bus travel, nothing was given to women. She also found fault with the free bus travel saying all the buses were crowded.
She even challenged the troupe members to give her the mike and she would tell what she wanted to tell loud enough. When one of the troupe members asked her why she voted for Congress, she was seen slapping herself saying she made a mistake by voting for the Congress.
The video has been shared widely on social media platforms exposing the hollow promises made by the Congress leadership. “What the elderly woman said is fully right. Majority of the public in the State are in the same mood “, a trader Syed Ahmed of Rama Talkies area told Telangana Today.
A youth, Pilli Kumar sought to know what happened to the promise of Rs 4000 monthly allowance to unemployed youth. The Congress leaders are known for their false promises and their failure to fully deliver the promises they made, he added.
MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra noted that when former Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao was in power, he developed the State in all fields. People from all walks of life are now looking towards the BRS, he said, adding that there was a common feeling among the public that the government turned non-functional and no one feels that there is a government in the State. This has been denting the State’s image badly, he felt.
