Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, said during the last two years, cases have been registered under various sections under the Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Diseases Act against those who violated the lockdown rules and mask-on policy. Thousands of these cases were registered and fine of Rs 1,000 was imposed on the violators.
As the fine amount was high, many people did not pay the fine and cases against them were pending. The Commissioner pointed out that such persons can settle the cases by paying Rs 100 in the Lok Adalat by making use of the opportunity until March 12. Any pending cases against civilians may lead to denying passport or government jobs and other benefits.
