Warangal: The authorities of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC), Warangal, have taken disciplinary action against seven third year MBBS students for allegedly ragging juniors.
The students in question were said to have been suspended for six months and expelled from the hostel for the entire course period. It was said that some second year MBBS students had made derogatory comments against the third year students in their WhatsApp group.
The third year students, who came to know about the comments of the second year students recently, wanted to punish them. They summoned 20 second year students to the hostel terrace, forced them to kneel, apologise and promise not to repeat such behaviour again.
One of the students recorded the incident on his mobile phone and complained to the National Medical Council (NMC) and Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) authorities, besides lodging a complaint with Warangal Commissionerate Police.
