Retirement age of Singareni workers increased to 61

Hyderabad: Fulfilling his promise to the Singareni workers, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday enhanced their superannuation age to 61 years. He directed Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) chairman and managing director N Sridhar to announce the date of implementation at the board meeting to be held on July 26.
The decision to increased the superannuation age was taken at the request of the Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) and MLAs from the coal belt area of the State. A total of 43,899 Singareni workers will benefit from the decision.
The Chief Minister also gave his nod for setting up the Singareni Medical college in Ramagundam Assembly constituency. Orders in this regard will be issued soon. He took these decisions during a review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday, with the elected representatives from the coal belt area on the issues pertaining to Singareni area.
Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Satyavathi Rathod, Government Whip and Chennur MLA Balka Suman, Government Whip and Manuguru MLA Rega Kantarao, Mancherial MLA Diwakar Rao, Bhoopalpally MLA Gandra Venkata Ramanareddy, Kothagudem MLA Vanama Venkateshwar Rao, Ramagundam MLA Korukanti Chander, Asifabad MLA Antram Sakku, Sirpur Khagaznagar MLA Koneru Konappa and others participated.
