Revanth alleges retired engineers backed BRS in Kaleshwaram controversy
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy lashed out at retired engineers, accusing them of colluding with the previous BRS government in irregularities and criticising their suggestions on water projects. He singled out Shyamprasad Reddy for allegedly shifting positions on the Medigadda barrage and warned that such engineers deserved punishment.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday launched a scathing criticism against retired engineers, who suggested that the State government operate the Kannepalli pump house to lift water. He also claimed that the pump house was not fully operational.
Addressing a press conference, Revanth Reddy alleged that the government had erred by not initiating action against some retired engineers, accusing them of colluding with the previous BRS government in alleged irregularities and benefiting financially through contractors.
“We made a mistake by not putting a few retired engineers in jail. They partnered with the previous government in the loot and minted money through contractors,” he said.
The Chief Minister alleged that the opposition was using retired engineers to mount pressure on the government and tarnish its image. He described their suggestions as “bewakoof”(foolish) and said they deserved “belt treatment.”
Referring to retired engineer Shyam Prasad Reddy, Revanth Reddy claimed that his earlier report had opposed the construction of the Medigadda barrage and instead recommended Vemanapally as the location. He alleged that the retired engineer was now taking a contradictory stand as he was not sent to Cherlapally jail.
