RICH Director calls for collaborative efforts for benefitting farming community
The RICH, in association with Vaagdevi Colleges, conducted the first-ever ‘Agro-Industry Research Roundtable’ conference at Vaagdevi college campus in Warangal on Tuesday
Warangal Urban: R Bhubesh Kumar, Director of Food and Agriculture, Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH) has stressed the need for collaborative efforts among the research agencies, academia, industries, government agencies and startups to develop innovative products and services for the benefit of the farming community.
The RICH, in association with Vaagdevi Colleges, conducted the first-ever ‘Agro-Industry Research Roundtable’ conference at Vaagdevi college campus at Bollikunta on the outskirts of Warangal on Tuesday. A total of 39 farming challenges were identified at the event that could be taken as research statements. Dr Uma Reddy, Assistant Director, Regional Agriculture Research Centre, Warangal, has urged the students of engineering colleges, and researchers to initiate research and development activities to develop innovative agriculture technologies which would lead to better development in agriculture in this region.
Dr Ch Devender Reddy, Secretary, Vaagdevi Colleges, has urged the researchers to focus on resolving at least ten issues faced by the farming community, and assured that they would roundtable conference of this sort would be conducted every year at the Vaagdevi Colleges. Dr Shanta Thoutam, OSD (Textiles & Handicrafts), Govt of Telangana, Dr Usha Dayal, JDA, Warangal, Dr Ghouse Hyder, DAO, Mulugu, Dr Vahini Devi, Director, Vaagdevi Colleges, Dr MK Kaushik, CEO – VIBA (Vaagdevi Incubation and Business Accelerator), Raju Karani, founder and CEO of Karani Industries, and others attended the conference. More than 150 farmers, representatives of farmers’ associations, industry representatives, researchers, startup companies’ representatives and students attended the conference.
