SC, ST commission expresses displeasure against officials of RGUKT

Nirmal: Members of the SC, ST Commission expressed their displeasure against officials of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT)-Basar for failing to depute sufficient caretakers for girl students on the campus.
During their visit to the campus on Friday, the members expressed their displeasure over the university having only five caretakers for 6,000 girl students. They directed the officials to ensure sufficient caretakers for the students.
They instructed the authorities to take steps to address shortage of faculty members for the institution, besides removing chief warden Sridhar for allegedly misbehaving with students. They criticised Sridhar for skipping the meeting.
Earlier, the students poured out their challenges with the members. They regretted that they were facing inconvenience due to insufficient faculty members and lack of basic amenities. They alleged that the chief warden was harassing and misbehaving with them citing rules of the university.
On Thursday night, the students released a poster alleging that the in-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof S Venkata Ramana was indulging in corruption by illegally claiming his salary for nine months.
They accused him of appointing private persons and misappropriating public money. They charged that he was committing sexual assault against women employees. They demanded the government a probe into his wrongdoings.
