Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board’s official e-Chhawani portal (https://secunderabad.cantt.gov.in) faced a technical glitch, halting revenue transactions for the past three days, officials said.
SCB officials confirmed the disruption and said it affected processing on the platform, with users unable to complete revenue-related transactions during the outage. A senior SCB official said other Cantonment Boards also faced a similar situation due to the non-functioning of e-Chhawani portals.
The e-Chhawani portal was upgraded in 2021 by the Ministry of Defence in all 61 Cantonments Boards, including Secunderabad Cantonment, to provide key online civic services. These included registering complaints on civic issues, uploading necessary documents for issuing trade licences, tanker booking, property tax payments, applying for birth and death certificates and name corrections, applying for renewal of leases, and applying for water and sewerage lines.
SCB office offers in-person services during portal outage
Residents were asked to visit the SCB office directly to register complaints, pay water bills and apply for new water and sewerage connections after an online portal was not restored, an SCB official said.
“Residents can visit the SCB engineering, health wing, taxes wing and water wing to resolve their issues, till the portal is restored. Efforts were underway to address the issue and restore normal services, and in another week, the portal will work,” said an SCB official.
