The Secunderabad Railway Protection Force rescued 120 children under Operation Nanhe Farishte in April while intensifying anti-crime operations. Officials also recovered stolen property, seized ganja worth Rs 86.17 lakh, arrested traffickers and ticket touts, and returned lost belongings to passengers.

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel rescued 120 children during the month April, as part of ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte,’ which is aimed at tracing and protecting minors found alone or separated from their families at railway stations and on trains.
Officials said the force also intensified multiple security drives across the railway zone during the month.
Under ‘Operation Yatri Suraksha,’ RPF arrested 79 offenders and recovered stolen passenger property worth Rs 54.52 lakh.
In ‘Operation Amanat,’ personnel traced and returned 319 lost belongings valued at Rs 83.35 lakh to passengers.
As part of anti-crime operations, RPF seized ganja worth Rs 86.17 lakh under ‘Operation Narcos,’ arresting 16 persons.
In a separate anti-human trafficking drive under ‘Operation AAHT,’ five boys were rescued and two traffickers were arrested.
The force also cracked down on illegal ticket touts, registering 24 cases and arresting 26 persons under ‘Operation Uplabdh.’
Railway officials said CCTV surveillance helped apprehend 11 offenders and recover stolen property worth Rs 26.65 lakh during the month.
