Seven-member gang stealing mangalsutras of devotees at Edupayala nabbed

Police recover five gold mangalsutras weighing 22 to 25 grams each; accused involved in multiple theft cases on the premises of Sri Vanadurga Bhavani temple

Medak: The Medak police busted a gang, which was allegedly stealing gold mangalsutras from women devotees at the Sri Vanadurga Bhavani temple in Edupayala.

During a regular check, the Papannapet police questioned the seven persons suspiciously sitting in an auto on the premises of the temple on Tuesday. When they replied contradictorily, the police took them into custody. The accused agreed that they were involved in multiple theft cases on the premises of Edupayala temple. The police recovered five mangalsutras weighing 22 to 25 grams each that were stolen from different women.


The accused were Vadde Yadaiah, Makkani Naveen, Uppu Sai Kumar, Alakunta Naresh, Makkani Pawan, Vadde Srikanth and Vade Narasimhulu. All the seven were residents of Medak district and aged below 30 years.
