Som Distilleries files case against BRS leader Krishank in Bhopal
Som Distilleries and Breweries Limited has filed a case in Bhopal court against BRS spokesperson Krishank Manne over his allegations, leading to cancellation of liquor sale permission in Telangana
Hyderabad: Som Distilleries and Breweries Limited has moved a Bhopal court against BRS spokesperson Krishank Manne in connection with his allegations against the company, leading to cancellation of permission given by the Congress government in Telangana to sell its liquor in the State in June this year.
While Krishank was summoned to appear before the Bhopal court for hearing on November 18 this year at 10.30 am, the summons arrived at the BRS State headquarters in Telangana Bhavan on Thursday. He has been asked to appear either in person or through a duly designated legal representative on the specified date, to file a written statement of defence and present all supporting documents or counterclaims.
The notice pointed out that failure to appear could result in the case proceeding in the absence of the respondent, with the court likely to issue a decision based solely on the evidence presented by the complainant.
This is the 11th case filed against Krishank in the last 11 months, with most cases for either for his social media posts or taking up issues involving companies like Som Distilleries and Meinhardt among others. Earlier, he charged the Congress government with involvement in liquor scam by giving approvals to Som Distilleries. He said the liquor manufacturer had links with Congress leaders and gave donation to the party to obtain permissions to sell its beer brands in Telangana, while facing charges of supplying adulterated liquor in Madhya Pradesh.
