Standing up for human rights in testing times
The need for human rights and its importance was driven home with powerful speeches by students on the issue.

Delhi Public School, Nacharam organised a special assembly to mark Human Rights Day on December 10. The school said that it always stood at the forefront in molding model citizens and the special assembly organized by the Senior Secondary students was a step in that direction.
The event began with the attendees taking the pledge to uphold the human rights of all. The need for human rights and its importance was driven home with powerful speeches by students on the issue. This was followed by a beautiful exhibition of the posters made by the students were an amazing display of creativity and awareness.
The speech of the Secretary-General of the United Nations was played that underlined the need for equal rights and brotherhood especially in the pandemic ridden world of today. An informative presentation on the Formation of Human Rights Chapter in India captured the imagination of all. Principal Dr Sunitha Rao praised the efforts of the students and encouraged both the teachers and students to take the human rights pledge on mygov.in as their promise to uphold the same.
An introspective video with students’ views on human rights drove home the point on the importance of the issue. This highlighted the fact that the younger generation is not only aware of but also socially conscious. Senior Vice-Principal Nandita Sunkara appreciated the efforts of the students to organize such a pertinent event. The vote of thanks by Dr Shelly Mallick concluded the event. The students took back loads of information and promised to do their bit for society.
