Khammam: CPI (ML) Mass Line State secretary Potu Ranga Rao demanded the State and Central governments to immediately stop ongoing combing operations by security forces in Karregutta hillocks on Telangana-Chhattisgarh borders.

Alleging that the Centre was committing genocide with Operation Kagar aimed at wiping out Maoists in the Dandakaranya forests of Bastar in Chhattisgarh, he said with 8.5 lakh armed forces and 700 camps, the Centre was creating terror in the area with its war against on tribals and the Maoist party, like in a war waged against enemy countries. In a statement here on Friday, Ranga Rao noted that for the past three days, a major combing operation was being carried out in Karregutta forests from on all sides aiming to eliminate Maoist leaders.
“The outside world does not know what is happening. It is unjust for a government that was supposed to govern constitutionally and democratically to wage war on its own people. The operation reflects the nature of BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and as well as the Congress government in the State,” he said.

The Operation Kagar was being implemented to eliminate Maoists and displace tribals as part of the Centre’s plan to hand over the forest as well as the valuable minerals to corporate forces, Ranga Rao alleged.
