According to the letter, the party said the government and leaders of INTUC and AITUC were trying to dupe the workers of the SCCL by using the statistics.

The recognition documents were presented in the presence of AITUC Honorary President and Kothagudem MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, Singareni CMD N Balaram and other officials on Monday.

The delay over granting recognised status to the union has been attributed to the company’s dilemma over fixing tenure of recognition for the elected union.

There are over 2000 multi-purpose workers serving in 589 gram panchayats (GPs) in Khammam district and around 18, 000 workers serving in 481 GPs in Kothagudem district.

As many as 3,424 jobs were given to eligible men and women under the scheme so far

The workers stood by the side of the AITUC affiliated Employees union despite many attempts to split the union.

INTUC performed well in Kothagudem region as it secured highest votes in corporate area (549 votes), Kothagudem (1129), Yellandu (311) and Manugur (778 votes) to win locally.
