At least 37 people, including 16 women, died after a bus fell off a bridge into a canal near Patna village in Sidhi district on Tuesday morning, police said.

Prima facie, 44 passengers were travelling on the bus at the time of the accident, which occurred around 8:30 AM.

The incident occurred near Khalapur toll plaza when the truck hit two cars and a goods vehicle from behind.

Fifteen labourers were killed after a truck overturned in Jalgaon, police said.

According to the police, the accident took place near Kingaon village in Yaval taluka.

The driver, in an attempt to save a two-wheeler rider, took a sharp turn and lost control over the wheel, leading to the accident.

In a major road accident, 13 persons were killed and four were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in the district on Sunday.

The vehicle was hit by a container truck from behind causing minor damage to the caravan.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed shock over the incident and also expressed condolences to the kin of the bereaved family members.

The incident took place around 3.30 am when the three contractual labourers while working got trapped in the machine.

A vehicle collided head-on with a boulder loaded truck whose driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the divider and slipped towards its right side.

According to the police, the car, in which five persons were travelling crashed into the tanker on the NH 44 around 2.30 am. The family was from Saidabad in the city and was travelling in the car from Shadnagar after visiting a temple.

Police said the deceased are yet to be identified.

The accident occurred on the Nandyala-Allagadda highway in Yerraguntla village, which is 384 kms southwest of Vijayawada.
