The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday, 26 July, put on hold the scientific survey of the Gyanvapi mosque premises till tomorrow. (Thursday, 27 July.)

The Allahabad HC has resumed hearing a plea against a district court order directing the ASI to conduct a survey to determine if the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi was built upon a temple.

Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud-led bench acknowledges senior advocate Huzefa Ahmadi's plea on behalf of the mosque committee for urgent hearing of the matter.

The Delhi High Court directed all parties involved to submit their written statements and arguments, including other relevant judgements, within three weeks.
