A traffic constable in Banjara Hills was assaulted on Wednesday after he photographed a two-wheeler parked in a no-parking zone. The accused, identified as Ibrahim of Syednagar, allegedly argued with and attacked the officer. Police have registered a case.
The BRS has filed a police complaint against BJP MP CM Ramesh, accusing him of spreading false claims about a possible BRS-BJP merger. BRS leader Manne Govardhan Reddy also alleged that Ramesh is involved in major financial crimes, including a Rs. 450 crore bank fraud and illicit gains from the liquor trade.
The delegation, led by Sumitra Nandan, approached the police to formally register their grievance as the remarks by the Chief Minister were disrespectful and inflammatory.
The Court observed that the allegations were vague and unsupported by independent witnesses, and that peaceful demonstrations cannot be criminalised merely based on administrative inconvenience.
The complaint was filed in the wake of Revanth Reddy's controversial remarks, where he allegedly threatened to "trample" BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao with bulldozers
He pointed out that the former Chief Minister's name was not mentioned anywhere in the case which is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate for the last two years.
