Full supermoons are notable for being the biggest and brightest full Moons of the year. This full Moon is also a Blue Moon, as it is the third full Moon in a season with four full Moons. Although it won't appear blue, the term "Blue Moon" dates back to 1528 and has various speculated origins, including an old English phrase meaning "betrayer Moon"
Sky enthusiasts and stargazers are in for a treat this August as the celestial calendar presents a rare spectacle - not one, but two full moons in a single month.
Generally in a calendar year, at least one full moon is visible in the sky every month. However, rarely i.e. once every two to three years or 2.715 years on an average, two full moons appear in the same month.
