At least 25 passengers were injured, one critically, after a private bus overturned on NH 44 near Bazarhathnoor in Adilabad on Saturday night. The bus was travelling from Vijayawada to Amaravathi, Maharashtra. Police registered a case and began investigation.
The incident happened as the private bus was traveling from Bengaluru to Hyderabad. While trying to avoid a truck making a U-turn near the Addakula police station, the bus driver lost control, causing the bus to overturn on the roadside.
About 30 school students had a lucky escape after the school bus in which they were traveling got stuck in mud and tilted over to one side in great speed near Gangasthan area on Tuesday evening .
According to the police, the bus was on the way from Patancheruvu to Chennai via Vijayawada and around 9 pm when it reached Narsingi ORR stretch it ran over the road meridian and hit a pole before it overturned.
Nirmal Rural Inspector B Srinivas said Farhana (28) from Adilabad town died while being shifted to Hyderabad as she received grievous injuries when the bus turned turtle at a curve on the ghats.
