A student leader during the Telangana movement, Srinivas Yadav is currently serving as TRS Vidyarthi (student) wing State president.

To maintain social distancing, counting is being held in 17 halls in Belgaum and 12 halls each in Basavakalyan and Maski.

TRS candidate Nomula Bhagath exercised his franchise at 168/A polling booth in Amandal Parishad Upper Primary School at Ibrahimpatnam.

“Congress leaders too can tell people what good, if any, their government in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh had done for the constituency or Telangana during their elections campaign,” the minister added.

With this, the BJP now has 126 MLAs in the 230-member House, while the Congress has 96 legislators.

BJD's Bijay Shankar Das was leading over BJP candidate Rajkishore Behera by 14,561 votes in Tirtol seat in Jagatsinghpur district.

The bypolls were necessitated after sitting Congress MLAs resigned ahead of Rajya Sabha polls in June this year.

Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm, except in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Nagaland where the timings are different.

Scindia, 49, had joined Congress in 2002. After 18 years, he quit the party in March this year.

He said that the election teams are working impartially and effectively without any bias.

Nath while addressing a poll meeting on Sunday in Gwalior's Dabra town, where the Congress is up against Imarti Devi, said his party candidate was a "simple person" unlike his opponent who is an "item".
